A witty man says, “Forty is the old age of the youth, and fifty is the youth age of the old.” I quite agree with him! There is always an ultimate breakthrough at or around forty! That man has been at the Pool of Bethesda for a long time (John 5:5), he had an infirmity for 38 years, but at about forty, the Lord Jesus visited him. It doesn’t matter if you have had a set back before, or you have had a breakthrough before, God is going to surprise you with an ultimate breakthrough.
There is a good reason behind what you are passing through, whether you know it or not. You should know that God has a good intention concerning what you are passing through. Other nations would think God didn’t like Israel when they were in Egypt, but there is a reason behind all that they have passed through:
Deuteronomy 8:2 says, “And you shall remember all the way which the Lord your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, TO HUMBLE YOU, and to prove you, to know what was in YOUR HEART, whether you would keep His commandments, or not.”
God wants to make them very great so that they would know it is neither by their power nor their might, but by the Spirit of the Lord. And the second reason for that ‘suffering’ of about forty years, is to know whether they have a heart for God. You know the heart of man is desperately wicked, nobody knows the intents of the heart, even for God Almighty to know it, He has to search it. Many people call that time of searching “trials.”
All numbers have their spiritual implications, 40 is not an exception. When Caleb was eighty years old, he was telling the Israelites how strong he was; he compared it with his strength of 40 years old. Being 40 years old is the climax of a man’s strength.
Genesis 25:20 says, “And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.”
Genesis 26:34 also says, “And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith, the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Beshemath, the daughter of Elon, the Hittite.”
I am not saying you should marry at 40, please. How do you want to see at least two generations after you (Bible even puts it to be three generations). The experts say, “Ladies should marry at around 25 years, while young men should do so at around 27 years.” You hear me so?
Please permit me to greet the King of where I live in Nigeria, His Royal Highness, King Victor Femi Olawuyi (The Oloko of Oko) and one of his chiefs, Engineer (Dr) Johnson Bamidele O. Adewumi, a proprietor of an international school, Thomas Adewumi International School, and the founder of “Bamidele & Kemi Adewumi Foundation.” He marked his birthday on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Happy birthday sir!
The reason I made mention of him is that, I heard him said that he started one of his companies at around 36 years old; Samson was born for a purpose – to deliver Israel from their 40 years captivity from the hand of the Philistine (Judges 13: 1 & 5). I am not saying you should resign your job, and go and start a company; but you can have a business, that would not put in jeopardy your present employment, started.
There is a reason God is allowing you to pass through that uncomfortable situation. It is not to kill you, it is to bring the best out of you. Gold does not burn to ashes in the fire, it is to refine it, and brings out its luster. Going on a suicidal mission is not the solution.
I tap into the anointing upon my fathers in the Lord, and I pronounce that, your ultimate breakthrough is around the corner, in Jesus’ name!
A wise man says, “If you don’t blow your trumpet, nobody will blow it for you. I don’t see anything bad in blowing your trumpet, but don’t forget, there is a limit to everything in life. Therefore, quickly allow me to blow my trumpet in appreciating and praising the Lord because nobody will do. Many people are of my age today and many people were born this same date. Therefore, as I am wishing myself happy birthday, I wish you all happy birthday.
