This poetic thought was pen down to give a piece of advice to ladies when dealing with fake men out there, though there are many good and upright young men.
I learn how to write poems from Professor Wole Soyinka’s books, the Noble Laureate in Literature, and one of my lecturers in higher institution, Mr. Muyiwa Ojo. Therefore, there is no need to ask me whether I am a poet or not.
What a hidden poverty!
Without a palpable property,
Be aware tacitly.
Be attentive, you will see it is done spasmodically,
That must offer you a liberty,
And you come to limelight that all is paltry,
Then you escape life and limb from cerebral palsy.
Don’t be put in a barbecue,
Put your brain into a walk,
Don’t be swept off your feet with a sweet talk,
Use your carte blanche and tighten your buckle.
It is a battle; fight it to the bitter end,
It will be another feather in your cap at the end.
It is a battle, a ferocious battle;
Fight it, win it and you’ll be in fine fettle.
