This may not be for everybody. Albeit, we all know we are spiritual beings. The same way scientists claim we are higher animals, the same way we called ourselves human beings, spiritually, we are spirit beings.
Though most times, Christians, Muslims, and the practitioners of all other religions act physically more than spiritually. Have you forgotten that what makes us alive is the God’s Spirit in us? After that ceramic of Adam was beautifully crafted, it still remained an object made from soil (clay), but when God breathed into it, it became a living soul.
It was God’s breathe that turned man into a tripartite being – A man made of Spirit, Soul, and body. I related this account so that we can come back to our senses that the Spirit part of man is the most important. This statement is made not to undervalue the two other parts of man – soul and body.
This is not where I’m driving at today. I just write this as the foundation so that we can all fully understand what I have in mind. We are spiritual beings, and I want us to know that our words are more powerful than we think. With His words, God created heavens and earth. He didn’t like what He saw, and with His Words, He created what He wanted to see.
Elijah Followed Suit!
Elijah realized who he was and the power in his own words, the power his words carry not God’s word this time around because he is a child of God. He said in 1 Kings 17:1, ……BUT ACCORDING TO MY WORD…… You can read the rest of the story in 1 Kings 18: 41 – 45. According to his words, he proclaimed that it would not rain for three and half years and it was so. Do you know Elijah is just a man like me and you?
“Elijah was a man subject to like passions, as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. (James 5: 17 – 18).
His words are so powerful and effective until he prayed again. He prayed hard before it could rain again! Therefore, mind what you declare! Albeit, this just doesn’t come, this power is not just given until you give your life to Christ.
How Can I Get This power?
It is simple as ABC.
- Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and receive Him into your life (John 1:12a).
- Believe unto righteousness with your heart (John 1:12c, Romans 10:10a).
- Confess with your mouth. With the mouth, confession is made unto salvation (Romans10:10b).
