6 Proven Ways to Be Committed (3-min Read)

On the road to great achievement, there is no place of real rest. A little siesta or slumber when cooking will result in a “burnt sacrifice.” The time to really rest is when the set goals have been attained.

Commitment 2 - Motivation-is-what-gets-you-started.-Habit-is-what-keeps-you-going

It is not a difficult task to start anything in life, but to continue with it until you are successful is a very difficult task. Starting a business is easy, starting a blog is not all that difficult, but to keep going is where the real job is. Many times without number I have watched an athlete start a race, but would not make it to the finishing line. Many started building a house but abandoned it for many years.

Many people have the notion that whenever they start anything, they must finish it. Yes, you have thought and spoken well, but it is not automatic. Even robots that have been programmed to do anything still need to be monitored, to avert malfunctioning; you have to keep at it. On the road to great achievement, there is no place of real rest. A little siesta or slumber when cooking will result in a “burnt sacrifice.” The time to really rest is when the set goals have been attained.

Commitment is one of the virtues that are required to make it to the end when you start anything. It is one of the traits of successful and result-oriented people. For success to surface, commitment is a must. The hen that was digging with its webbed feet, with commitment, will definitely find something to eat. If it is success you are vying for, commit to whatever you are doing. Give it what it takes, give it your all. Commitment requires your whole time and energy, it is a consuming passion.

What do you do to be committed?

  1. Keep thinking about the project every day: when you keep thinking about a particular problem, the solution is sure. Have you forgotten Eureka Can? The law of floatation was discovered by the inventor when bathing.
  2. Keep changing your original plan if there is need: Result-oriented people don’t keep to one way of doing things, you can actually create a new route to where you are going.
  3. Keep consulting and seeking professional advice on the issue: Seek knowledge and you shall find. Wise and successful people are those who seek to know and put it to practice.
  4. Keep writing the innovative ways you come about: Keep putting together what you have discovered in your quest for success in black and white, this is not only because of yourself and immediate family but to also bless the next generations.
  5. Keep executing your plan one at a time: Human tends to rush things. We want our children to start school earlier; we want them to have double promotion, etc. All these steps do more harm than good in the long run. Let us take a step at a time, not just a step, but a right step.
  6. Keep monitoring and recording the progress and setbacks: Keep at it, keep monitoring the progress and make sure you record it. It is also very crucial that any setback be written down so that whatever may be the cause will not be repeated in the nearest future.

Nature Renews (1-min Read)

Tree and the earth 1

When I first learned that paper was made from trees, I was surprised. That was a long time ago! I studied Engineering in order to be a lecturer, then I found myself in teaching in secondary school, no problem, there is no much deviation from the original plan, but the only challenge is that I have to teach Technology, it is my favorite subject (in that I passed it always) but not my best subject, my best subject was, and still remains, Mathematics.

I started falling in love with this subject called Technology when I saw what it offers the world. I learn that it is the application of scientific knowledge to solve the problems of this world. In order words, if there is no technology, all the money, resources, and energy put in by scientists and others in researches would be a waste. There would be no way to show and demonstrate their conclusions and inferences.

Nature was put in place to enhance this life we live in. Then, if nature is to benefit us, why do we destroy our own properties? Why do we cut trees indiscriminately? Yes, trees serve as raw materials for many products like paper, drugs, building materials, furniture, transportation, etc. All these support life, but they are not as important as life itself.

All the products from trees make life easy, but trees support life by preserving the Ozone layer. I am not saying matured trees should not be fell to make those useful products, but they have to be fell with caution, and be replaced, when you cut one tree, don’t forget, you plant two back. Nature is an expert jobber in earth renewal! Nature renews!

You are a king! Are you surprised? Did you say you are not from a royal family? It does not really matter. This is not to relegate the position of all our kings; they are highly respected and honored. May they all live long prosperously! You are a king (You are of King David lineage), and let me add another shocker, you are a priest (You belong to one of the lines of the Levites)! Whether you are a woman or a man, you are both a king and a priest. You are a royal priesthood!

Before Israel dreamt of becoming like other nations, by asking for a king, there were no kings; judges rule. In order words, she was governed by judges. Judges were just like kings, and nobody had ever combined the offices of a judge and a priest together in the history of Israel until the time of Eli; after that Samuel. What a great a privilege! A royal priesthood!

A king was not entitled to do some things in the past, so also a priest. For instance, when King Uzziah went up to burn incense to the Lord – the duty that belongs to the priests (2 Chronicles 26:15-16); the Lord struck him and he became a leper (King Saul was also dealt with, when did the same). Concerning a priest, his functions were limited to the temple, and some special duties like anointing people on behalf of God, he cannot rule a nation.

What a great privilege for this new generation! A new breed of Christians: you can rule and you can burn incense – you can boldly go the throne of grace at any time, without consulting anybody. Then, you have to consult the priest; even for the priest to go in there, many sacrifices would be performed, in case he has committed one sin or the other, and a chain would be tied around his waist, in case he died right in there, you dare not enter, the chain would be used to draw him out.

In 1 Peter 2:9, out of all things; God made you a royal priesthood. A rare combination; a king like David and a priest like the Levites: which God had already had covenant of blessings with.

Thus says the Lord, if you can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and there should not be day and night in their season; then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant; that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers. As the host of heavens cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the descendants of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me –Jeremiah 33:20-22.

Think of it, when you combine these catalogues of blessing together; how great do you think you are? Mind you, if all these blessings are not yet manifested, and people are saying all kind of things, neglect them; they said the same thing to David the king and the Levites. Hear them: “…, the two families which the Lord chosen, he has even cast them off?” (Jer. 33:34)–KJV 2000

If all their “jestings” and “despising” cannot break the covenant of day and night, and cannot stop the blessings of David and Levites; then be ready for outpouring of the blessings of God, but you must manifest the characteristics of a king and a priest. Find out what they are in Proverbs 31.

King Lemuel’s mother told him that:

(1) “Give not your strength unto women, nor your ways to that which destroy kings” – Proverbs 31:3. You can also read the story of Samson. How he destroyed himself because he gave his strength unto a woman.

(2) It is not for kings to drink neither wine nor strong drink (Proverbs 31: 4 – 7).

(3) “Open your mouth for the dumb, for the cause of all who are left desolate.”Proverbs 31:8 A king should fight for the defenceless/desolate – widow, orphans etc.

(4) “Open your mouth, judge righteously and plead the cause of the poor and the needy.” Proverbs 31:9. Deuteronomy 14:28 also pleads the cause of destitute and strangers.

This is a mystery unravelled so that our blessings can be accrued to us torrentially like a heavy-intensity rain. If you put all these into consideration, the outpouring of the blessings of God upon you is sure!
