To Survive, You Make a Move

Survivewtmk

In order to survive, the hand that hurts, you don’t hide

In order to survive, the hand that feeds, you don’t bite

In order to survive, the hand that baths, you don’t chide

In order to survive, the hand that supports, you make a childe

Come out of your shell in order to survive

Come out of your mess for a flex

Come out of the cocoon in order to thrive

When you hide, alone you start to strive

Come out of the hidden place in order to be seen

Come out of your wry situation in order to fly

Come out of the roaring fire for a soaring life

Roar yourself hoarse to silent the devil

In order to survive, don’t be stiff

In order to survive, you make a move

Impression: The Result of What You Do

Hand shake - impressionwtmk

Impression is what you do, that make people continue to think of you after you have left. It is paramount when it comes to success in life. It is actually working on the mind of others. Yes, and I don’t think this is wrong. In fact, this is the only one route that leads to minds of others concerning you.

The same way it is not easy to leave an imprint on a rock, it is not easy to leave an impression on the minds of people, but it is very possible and achievable. Efforts and principles can make it done.

These are what to do to leave your impression on the minds of people you are meeting for the first time:

  • Give a smile and hearty greetings.
  • Introduce yourself and ask for his/her name.
  • Continue the conversation.
  • Decline if he/she doesn’t want to speak with you.
  • Render a helping hand if he/she needs one.
  • Give room for opportunity to meet again.

However, do not forget there are wolves in sheep’s clothing and there is the possibility that sheep can be found in wolves’ clothing, beware and be at alert when you are meeting new people. All your senses have to be at work, when you meet people for the first time, in order to at least have a glimpse into who he/she is. Though, you may be wrong later!

First impression, they say, lasts longer.

The Catapult Nature of Man

catapult-157721_960_720

I don’t know how a catapult looks like in other countries of the world. In my country, Nigeria, it is a thick rubber strip tightly tied to the two arms of a Y-shaped strong stick. It is normally used to kill birds, though it can also be used to kill some other small animals like squirrels.

It is local hunting equipment. It is used along with stone to kill the target of the operator of the catapult. The destructive effect of the catapult on the animal depends among other things on the weapon itself and the expertise and the strength of the hunter. If it is a bird, where it is shot, determines whether it is going to die instantly or escape with it. A catapult is a small equipment, but in the hand of an expertise, it can be used for successful hunting of birds and some other small animals.

You as a Catapult

What materials are you made of? Are you well-shaped? Which force is driving you?

  • What materials are you made of?

The catapult I am referring to in this context is made up of wood and rubber. There are different types of wood: hard and soft wood. There are also rubber of different thickness. The correct combination of these materials determines the effectiveness of the weapon. What stuff are you made of? Are you equipped for success? You may not have made it in life, but you and others should already know where you are heading to. This would be revealed by who you are. This can be gotten from the type of books you read, people you associate with, and the friends you keep. Show me your friends, and I will know the type of person you are. Someone says, “You are the average of people you relate with.”

  • Are you well-shaped?

This weapon I am talking of has a Y-shaped wood frame. It sometimes deviates from the original shape because it is locally and manually produced. In order to function effectively because of its “little” deformity, the operator has to reposition it make sure the stone will pass through the center of the letter ‘V’ on the tail. That is the best way the shot stone can have the best effect on its prey. As a human being, you have your area of strength and your area of weakness. What will determine your successful endeavor is not only concentrating on your area of strength, but also on working on your area of weakness.

  • Which force is driving you?

A catapult in the hand of a child and a novice may not be able to accomplish anything, but in the hand of a matured man with an expertise in its use is deadly. Go and ask Goliath, there is even no need, his death has already told us the effect the stone from David’s catapult had on him. Age counts in life but you have to be matured psychologically and emotionally. Your International Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Quotient (EQ) are the important forces that you need to build as you are building your expertise in whatever area you are gifted in order to have a successful endeavor.

There is Always a Way Out

Precipice picture

If it could have been a rough road,

It would have been better,

Would definitely lead somewhere,

Every jangled road.

If it could have been a bottomless pit,

It would have led to another world,

Where they stick to their words,

And where they are not amoebocytes.

If it could have been a turbulent waters,

There would have been a saving rod,

It can forcefully lead to a shore,

Where there are ready-made shelters

If it could have been a fiery furnace,

The effect can be ameliorated,

If timely intervention could be provided,

There is a reversal for every burnt face.

If it could have been a precipice,

No escape route, you think, in the air,

It is going to be like a plane crash,

The most high is still in charge.

No Qualm! Just an Observation

There is no qualm, this is just an observation in the Blogosphere.

ObservationA friend said, “You did not justify your work.” I was covered with qualm from head to toe, and I was dumbfounded. That was before I went for computer literacy. I just finished an assignment given to us, and I was elated that I typed it myself believing everything is perfect, until the bombshell from that trusted friend of mine.

Of all the sites and blogs I visit daily, only a few justify their posts.” If your post is not centralized, you need to justify it. It always looks better. In Microsoft Word, “Justify” is found under Paragraph Section, the same place where you find “Centralize.” The shortcut is “Control J.”When I first used the command on one of my post, it didn’t work, meaning the command is meant to be used on Microsoft and may be some other programmes.

Some know how to do this, but they don’t justify their work because of time. To justify your work before posting, highlight all the texts, and take your mouse up to the place where you have the fonts, color, etc. The button to click is between “Underline” and “Text Color”, click it and that’s all.

Which one will you prefer, between the “justified” (above) and the “unjustified” below?

How to Design a Free Website on WordPress

wordpress-1414398_960_720

This post is written to say thank you to all my followers that are not blogging on wordpress.com. Either you follow me directly on WordPress or indirectly from social sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google+, and so on. Your being my friend has helped a lot, and we can continue our collaboration for success and life on the same platform. If you desire to have your own website free, which later you can monetize if you want, this is the best platform to do that.

Websites on WordPress are standard, fast, and easily customizable. If you don’t want to be constrained by how your site looks and functions, then, you can get a self-hosted version on wordpress.com, starting from $2.99. You can also get self-hosted site via bluehost.com or dreamhost.com.

These are the steps required to create your website on your own on wordpress.com, but make sure you have your first post ready.

Step 1

  • Go to wordpress.com/start
  • Choose an option whether to start with a blog, start with a website, start with a portfolio, start with an online store.
  • I would advise you start with a website first, you can change your settings later.

Step 2

  • If you choose “start with a website”, you would be asked to choose a theme. Choose any theme you like in the list shown, you can change it later.
  • You would be prompted to enter a name or keyword so that your site can be given an address. If you already own a domain, you would be directed to another path by clicking “Already own a domain?” on the same page.

Step 3

  • For instance, when I was writing this, I typed the keyword motivations, and I was given the address “motivations2017.wordpress.com” which is a free address.  There are other alternatives like “mymotivations.blog” which is available in WordPress.com Premium, that is you have to pay for it.

Step 4

  • You have to select the free one, except you want to go for the premium. It will take you to a page where you have to pick a plan that’s right for you: Business is $24.92 per month, billed yearly. Premium is $8.25 per month, billed yearly. Personal is $2.99 per month, billed yearly. Free $0 for life.

Step 5

Hospitality: A Great Way to Blessing

hospitality picture

Hospitality is very important in life. It is one of the biblical ways to great blessing.

These are some verses of the Bible that mention hospitality:

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality (Romans 12:13).

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach (1 Timothy 3:2).

But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate (Titus 1:8).

Use hospitality one to another without grudging (1 Peter 4:9).

Moreover, there are also some Bible Characters that got their breakthrough through hospitality:

The barren Abraham and Sarah got what they have been looking for a long time through hospitality (Genesis 18).

The Widow of Sarephath left poverty for riches through hospitality (1 Kings 17).

The wife of the son of the prophet was also made debt-free for life because she had attended to the needs of the prophet earlier (2 Kings 4).

A Maze of Narrow Ways

maze-1800994_960_720

I was amazed when I was searching dictionaries for the meaning of maze, and I found that MAZE and MAIZE have the same pronunciation, though a little difference in spelling. Different words with different spelling and meaning, but the same pronunciation.

Such is life! A maze could mean a confusing network of paths, streets, or passageways that a pedestrian or driver might become lost in; most time they are narrow, adding salt to injury. In life, there are sometimes we find ourselves in a dilemma, in situations whereby we will need to take an important decision and all that we would see is confusion. Every decision will look like correct one. Every way will seem the right way. And when the decision is taken, it is not always easy to turn back, because of the narrowness of the way. It is like when a motorist was lost on a particular road, and U-turn is forbidden, he has to continue the journey until he comes by a T-junction or an intersection.

Turning back from here to go to the starting point, in order to take a correct decision will take a lot of time. Hence, one has to take advice from the experienced, and ruminate properly before a crucial decision is taken in order to avert wastage of time and destiny. It is not how far, but how best.

Some areas of life that present themselves as a maze in life are as follows: The course to undertake in higher institutions, whether to accept an employment in a particular company, who to marry in life, relocation to another place, the retirement age in order to start our own business or company, and so on so forth.

These are crucial areas of our life that we have to be very careful because a little deviation from taking a correct decision will cause us a lot.

The Pink of What We Blog

Perfection

One of the definitions given by Microsoft Encarta Dictionary for pink is the highest degree or perfect example of something as in, “The Pink of perfection.” I want to use the word pink in this context as to mean the same. I don’t want to go by the way of color.

Let us be the pink of what we blog! I mean let’s follow and act what we write. Most of the time when we write as bloggers, writers, and authors, we do it out of inspiration; for instance, it is not every time we plan what we write, most of what we put as blue or black ink on white or cream paper, or drafted as soft copy, is born out of inspiration.

In the sight of this, you need to sit down after posting and read what you think you have written. If you motivate others with your blog, are you also motivated? If you give people advice on one thing or the other, do you also follow such pieces of advice? If you intimate people on how to do something, are you sure it is not written based on theoretical knowledge? If you do, it means you need to practicalise what you have taught, though it is better you have the practical knowledge prior to posting.

We have to be the pink of what we blog. We have to be the pink of perfection on what we claim we know. You think you are writing for people, you are also writing for yourself. To capture what I am saying here, go and read one of the posts in your archive, maybe you will not doubt the writer of such post?

As bloggers, writers, and authors, let us be the epitome of knowledge not only in words, but also indeed, and as we are increasing our knowledge daily by learning from others, don’t let us forget to learn from ourselves.
You that teach others do you also teach yourself? Let’s be the pink of what we blog.

Better is the Life of Faith

Faith

Dr Kenneth Copeland (His entourage did not include Pastor (Mrs) Gloria Copeland), was in Nigeria yesterday with Dr David Oyedepo in Living Faith Church Worldwide (aka Winners Chapel), Lagos State. In the Vigil, he preached about the love of God, and he admonished us we should receive it in faith. Thereafter, the Bishop of the Commission, Dr David Oyedepo, spoke a lot about faith. His major assistants, Bishop Abioye and Bishop Aremu also contributed in that aspect. I deem it fit this day to also contribute my own quota when it comes to faith.

Faith is the substance of things hope for, and the evidence of things not seen. Have you ever seen God? No. But you believe He is. Were you here, when Jesus was on earth? No. But you believe He is coming back. I believe it is now very clear that faith is the very life of God.

Everything God did was in faith. That is why we declare Him a righteous and holy God. Everything Abraham did was of faith, that is why he is called Father of faith. All the patriarchs of faith listed in the Bible didn’t waiver. If they did, it would have counted disobedience to God which is sin due to unbelief. Therefore, “whatsoever is not of faith is sin” (Romans 14:23b). If you eat believing that it will harm you (Romans 14:23a), it is a sin. There is nothing in the food that could harm you; it is what you believe that harms you. Even your prayer can become a sin (Psalms 109:7b). How? When it is not done in faith!

Faith can be described as the very life of God. Faith can be likened to Oxygen, for without it, there is no life. So as when there is no Oxygen, no man will be in existence, thereby leading to no exhalation of Carbon dioxide, and this, in turn, will lead to death for all plants. That is one of the reasons why there are no living things in most of the planets that have been discovered. Without Oxygen, no life; so also without faith, dead situations remain so.

There is a need for faith for your seemingly dead issues and situations to surge back to life. it was the breath of God – the very life of God – that made man to become a living soul. Man was made from earth, and he would have remained ceramic and dead; if not the breath of God, which is God’s very life.

Life is very interdependent; man breathes in Oxygen to live and breathes out carbon dioxide, which in turn the plants used in the process of photosynthesis to produce food. God wants it to be so; for this is one of God’s principles for creation. God can do it all alone but He still said, “let us….” He can do it all alone but He still depends on the contribution of God, the son, and Holy Spirit. If you want to please God, sin must not be in your life, that is, everything you do must be of and in faith; “for whatsoever is not of faith is a sin.”

In Proverbs 8:23, 27 & 30; Jesus was speaking, “when He prepared the heavens, I was there; …

Hence, God needs your contribution on the part of your faith to give life to your dead situations. That was what happened when man was being created; He needed some people’s faith that it could happen. Man was not in existence then, He would have asked us, “do you believe this image can live?” Then the supposed man’s answer would have determined man’s existence. Jesus and Holy Spirit believed with Him; and with their faith, man was created in God’s image.

Since whatever is not of faith is sin; and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). It means therefore that when a person has no faith, everything around and in him dies. The noble laureate, Wole Soyinka said; “if you keep silent in the face of tyranny, the man dies in you.” So also with challenges, if you have no faith to address it, the challenge will bury you alive.

Whatsoever is not of faith is a sin. God loves you but hates sin. So if you want to see God’s glory in your situation, there is a need for faith to draw virtues out of Him – just like that woman with the issue of blood (Mathew 9:21); for this is His very life that turns dead and seemingly insurmountable situations around.

Better is the lifestyle of faith than that of fear!
